Position Summary

Precious Cargo Community Support Services is seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Part-Time and Full-Time Family Support Workers to provide one-to-one support for children and youth. This role includes school transportation, supervised family visits, and individualized support in homes, community settings, schools, and agency locations.

Family Support Workers play a vital role in promoting the safety, emotional well-being, and healthy development of children and youth while supporting families through structured, trauma-informed services.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide one-to-one support for children and youth during scheduled shifts.
- Supervise and support visits between children and caregivers in accordance with individualized service plans.
- Safely transport children and youth to and from school, family visits, appointments, and community activities.
- Promote healthy routines, positive coping strategies, and emotional well-being through supportive interactions.
- Ensure the physical and emotional safety of children and youth at all times.
- Observe, document, and report behaviours,



interactions, and concerns using objective, factual, and professional documentation.
- Maintain skilled boundaries and demonstrate respect while working with families from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing communication as required.
- Work a flexible schedule based on client needs.

Please note: Evening and weekend availability is required for this position. Shifts may include daytime, evening, and weekend hours depending on program and family needs.

Qualifications

We're looking for individuals who have:

- Experience working with children and youth, preferably in social services, child and youth care, or a related field.
- The ability to work independently in homes, schools, and community settings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to remain calm, professional, and supportive in emotionally challenging situations.
- Cultural awareness, sensitivity, and respect for diverse families.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and documentation skills.
- A dependable, flexible, and professional work ethic.

Minimum Requirements

- Minimum 21 years of age.




- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Reliable vehicle with a minimum of $2 million liability insurance.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Driver's Abstract (required upon request).
- Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Child Intervention Record Check.
- Strong written documentation and reporting skills.
- Active Microsoft 365 (or equivalent Microsoft subscription) for agency communication and reporting.
- Diploma, certificate, or coursework in Human Services, Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Social Sciences, or a related field is considered an asset. Equivalent education and relevant experience will also be considered.

Compensation $15.00–$22.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience, plus mileage reimbursement.
