Food and Nutrition Manager AgeCare is dedicated to fostering healthy, resident‑centered care in long‑term care homes. The Food and Nutrition Manager will oversee the Food and Nutrition Services Department, ensuring that residents receive high‑quality, individualized food and nutritional care.
Key Responsibilities - Conduct complete resident nutritional assessments, including quarterly assessments, MDS, RAPs where implemented, and QI’s, with follow‑up documentation and interventions for residents identified at moderate or low nutritional risk.
- When the Registered Dietitian is not available, perform assessments for residents at high nutritional risk.
- Support the Resident and Family Council and chair the Food Committee.
- Communicate with and support residents and families in determining appropriate nutritional care needs.
- Visit residents during mealtimes to monitor food acceptance and quality.
Qualifications - Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Service Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- Active membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or certification as a Registered Dietitian.
- Current provincial Protected Food Handling Certificate.
- Prior professional experience in a health‑care setting is an asset.
- Knowledge of clinical documentation and basic therapeutic nutrition for the long‑term care population.
- Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills.
Salary Salary Range: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
