As a Yard Forklift Operator, you play a key role in ensuring customer orders are loaded accurately, efficiently, and safely. Working in an outdoor environment, you will be responsible for locating, moving, and loading concrete products throughout the yard while maintaining a strong focus on safety and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a propane sit-down forklift in a busy outdoor yard environment.
- Pick and stage products according to shipping orders.
- Load customer and company trucks accurately and efficiently.
- Transport products and materials throughout the yard to support operations.
- Perform daily pre-operational inspections of equipment and report any defects or mechanical issues.
- Maintain awareness of pedestrians, trucks, equipment, and yard traffic at all times.
- Follow safe operating procedures and forklift capacity limits.
- Keep equipment clean and in positive working condition.
- Assist with yard organization and housekeeping to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Valid forklift operator's competency card or to be renewed
- Experience as a sit-down forklift operator (1 year minimum)
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Good attendance record
- Resourcefulness
- Punctual person
- Ensure compliance with work safety standards and instructions

This is a physically demanding position. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (23kg). Manual dexterity, teamwork, hand-eye co-ordination and a combination of sitting, standing and walking required.
