Job Summary

Mow Town is an award winning lawn care and snow removal company offering service throughout Edmonton.

We have two spots opening up at our north side location, and one spot opening up at our southwest Edmonton location for full time Lawn Care and Snow Removal Specialists. The company is growing quickly and we frequently promote from within. In the summer we mow and trim lawns. In September and October, we aerate lawns, apply fertilizer and clean up leaves.

In winter our lawn care team transitions to snow removal using a variety of walk-behind equipment and shovels. Then in spring we use a variety of equipment to revitalize lawns during spring cleanup. This is a labour intensive role that requires physical strength and stamina, the ability to operate walk behind and ride-on equipment safely, and most importantly: a positive attitude toward green space maintenance and the team.

Duties

- Perform regular lawn maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, and trimming
- Apply fertilizers and other treatments to promote healthy growth
- Operate small machines such as power rakes, aerators, and blowers
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition
- Keep the shop organized and clean
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries
- This is not a heavy equipment operator job.

Experience:
- Previous experience in professional lawn care or snow removal is a requirement.
- Strong knowledge of lawn care techniques and best practices.
- You should have experience and be comfortable working with small engine machines such as snowblowers and lawn mowers
- Experience driving a pickup truck with a trailer would be helpful
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently




- Good physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Must Haves:
- Class 5 Drivers License
- No criminal record
- Reliable personal transportation to and from the shop each day
- You are physically fit, can push or pull up to 60 lbs at a time, and can also be on your feet for up to 10 hours per day
- As this is an outdoor job, please consider that working outdoors can trigger allergies and asthma.

The Work Schedule:
- During lawn care season, we typically work Tuesday to Friday with 11 hour days, and opportunities to work on Mondays for additional hours and OT.
- When we start losing daylight in fall, we switch to shorter days running Monday to Friday.
- In winter, we check in each morning and dispatch if it has snowed. If it doesn't snow, we still have guaranteed hours available each month and plenty of opportunity to work at the shop.
