Transform education at Chief Matthews School as a Full time Learning Assistance Teacher. In this pivotal role, support students' emotional and academic growth while celebrating cultural diversity. Reporting directly to the Principal, the Learning Assistance Teacher is integral to creating an inclusive academic framework that addresses individual student needs.
This includes developing IEPs in partnership with both educational staff and families, alongside incorporating Haida cultural teachings to enrich learning experiences. You'll implement strategies that ensure every student feels valued and supported. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective IEPs for diverse learners
- Manage and report on funding for student support programs
- Collaborate with specialists to enhance educational outcomes
- Provide targeted interventions for academic skill development
- Facilitate communication about student progress with parents Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with a valid BC Teaching certificate
- Training in special education or experience teaching First Nations students
