They present a four concert subscription series, also do outreach concerts in the province, and travel internationally. They have long been regarded as one of Canada's finest choral ensembles.
Volunteer Opportunity Details Volunteer
Opportunity ID: 6365 Description of Duties: The Winnipeg Singers is looking for people with experience in planning and carrying out fundraising activities to help on our committee. This is a professional choir that fundraises to help with operating costs and with international touring.
Skills Required Strong communication skills important. Event management experience, and experience in donor cultivation very helpful.
Skills Gained/Related Careers Skills acquired through this volunteer work would include: Relationship management; learn to interact with corporate sponsors, community leaders and arts patrons. Learn skills of communication necessary to retain donors, learn the skill of pitching ideas to potential supporters.
You will gain experience in event management,
and understand the legalities of nonprofit governance and fundraising practices.
You will gain skills in marketing and communication, and expand your skills in problem solving.
Careers that could be related to the experience you would gain would include non profit work in fundraising and development, work as an arts administrator, and work in corporate communications and marketing.
Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+ Time Commitment: Remote Volunteering , Flexible Hours Most fundraising events occur on weekends or evenings, but the planning could take place whenever volunteers are available.
Planning is done through Zoom meetings, the events are in person at various locations.
