About This Opportunity The Game On! program is facilitated by a team of male Mentors who provide participants with information and support to help them make informed choices about a range of healthy lifestyle practices. Through non-traditional physical activities, complemented by healthy eating support, participants are engaged in discussions around life skills, communication, and emotional health, all designed to promote life-long healthy living.
Mentors provide relatable guidance, encouragement through shared activities, and positive role models while building their confidence and resilience. Mentors will collaboratively deliver planned sessions that promote sportsmanship and healthy choices, encourage inclusive participation and respect, build positive,
trusting relationships with participants, an provide a safe and supportive workplace.
Program runs for one hour/week for an 8-week term, with 3 program terms per school year (fall, winter, spring). Mentors will gain valuable experience working with children and youth and will make a positive difference in their lives. They will also build skills in program facilitation, leadership, education, collaboration, and communication.
