Contribute to Rehabilitation & Supportive Care Services as a Health Care Social Worker at Nova Scotia Health. Provide critical interventions and support for clients and families in a collaborative environment. The position, based at the Halifax Infirmary, requires a Master's Degree in Social Work and involves working within a multi-disciplinary team.
You will perform psychosocial assessments, crisis counseling, and resource counseling to improve clients' health and functioning. Your expertise in areas such as family violence, grief, and end-of-life issues will be valuable in advocating for individuals and planning appropriate care programs. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychosocial assessments for clients in rehabilitation
- Provide crisis counseling and adjustment therapy
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on client care
- Engage in discharge planning and resource counseling
- Advocate for individuals within the community and institution Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Social Work
- Two years of clinical experience as a Social Worker
- Registered or eligible for NSCSW registration
- Solid counseling and communication skills
