The Inside Sales Commercial Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates, quotations, and sales support for commercial projects. This role works closely with customers, suppliers, outside sales representatives, contractors, and internal teams to review project requirements, interpret drawings and specifications, source pricing, and deliver competitive proposals that support profitable growth and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

- Review commercial project drawings, specifications, bid documents, and customer requirements to determine scope of work.
- Prepare detailed estimates and quotations for materials, labour, equipment, freight, and related project costs.
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, subcontractors, and manufacturers to obtain current pricing, product availability, lead times, and technical information.
- Support inside and outside sales teams by preparing quote packages, responding to customer inquiries, and recommending product or solution options.
- Follow up on submitted quotations, clarify scope, address questions, and help move opportunities through the sales process.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, bid documents, customer communications, pricing assumptions, and revisions.
- Identify potential cost risks, exclusions, substitutions, and value-engineering opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers, operations, procurement, and finance teams to ensure smooth handoff from quote to order or project execution.
- Monitor market pricing, supplier changes, and product updates to maintain accurate estimating practices.
- Provide professional, responsive, and solutions-focused service to commercial customers and partners.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in estimating, inside sales, construction, commercial supply, building materials, mechanical, electrical, HVAC,



or a related technical sales environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, takeoffs, schedules, and project documentation.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with estimating, CRM, ERP, or takeoff software is an asset.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple quotes and deadlines.
- Customer-focused mindset with a professional, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach.
- Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering technology, business, or a related field is an asset but not required where equivalent experience exists.
- Working proficiency in both English & French considered an asset.

Work Environment This is primarily an office-based inside sales and estimating role, with frequent use of phone, email, digital drawings, estimating tools, and supplier/customer portals. The position may require occasional coordination with warehouse, operations, vendor, or project teams to confirm product details, timelines, and order requirements.

Pay: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
