Our utilities client is seeking an IntermediateSystems Analyst to provide operational and production support for a core billing application, with a focus on maintaining and enhancing an established Oracle PL/SQL code base (Hybrid; Edmonton AB)[017-2026].

Overview

This role supports critical billing systems within a large-scale enterprise environment. The work is primarily production support and incident resolution on a mature billing system, alongside active project work tied to upcoming Daylight Savings Time changes. Team responsibilities are currently splitting between project and operational work — solid PL/SQL skills matter more than breadth across languages.

Contract, Edmonton, Hybrid, Working Hours: MST

Must Haves

- 5+ years hands-on Oracle PL/SQL development and support
- Recent experience supporting enterprise business applications in a production environment




- Demonstrated experience resolving complex application issues and incidents in an operational/on-call capacity
- Strong SQL development and troubleshooting against large enterprise databases
- Comfortable owning on-call/production support duties for 24/7 systems (rotational, bi-monthly; 15-min response SLA)

Nice to Have

- Azure/cloud exposure (current team has a growing gap here)
- Working knowledge of Java and/or .NET (C#)
- Familiarity with PowerShell and batch/scripting tools
- Knowledge of ServiceNow

Responsibilities

- Provides operational support, incident management, and troubleshooting for a production billing system
- Maintains and enhances an existing PL/SQL code base
- Responds to critical incidents with urgency, including on-call rotation
- Works closely with business users to identify and resolve data/process errors
- Documents fixes and contributes to continuous improvement of the system
- Contributes to active project work including upcoming Daylight Savings Time system changes
