Reporting to the Supervisor, the Janitor is responsible for performing janitorial duties, while maintaining a clean and orderly environment in both the plant and office facilities.

Key activities

- Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc.) as per cleaning schedule.
- Collect and dispose of all garbage and recyclables.
- Complete an Inventory of cleaning products once a week and collaborate with Purchaser when supplies are needed.
- Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects.
- Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
- In the winter, clean snow from walkways and spread salt to de-ice area.
- Perform and document routine inspection by using a cleaning log where needed.
- Follow all health and safety and GMP regulation.
- Perform any other duties as requested by management.
- Maintain cleanliness of chemical storage area and assist forklift operator/production staff in organizing the same.
- Upon supervisor’s request assist production staff to run the machine during lunch/breaks.

Required training and experience

- Minimum high school diploma.
- Previous work experience in the food and beverage manufacturing industry is preferred.

Skills sought

- Safe food handling procedures.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task,



stand for long periods of time and experience working in a rapid-paced environment with repetitive tasks.
