THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Head of Graphic Design, the Junior 3D Modeler is responsible for providing design support by modelling product and displays for our international clients.

This is a production-focused role working under the direction of Senior Designers, with a primary focus on accurate execution rather than concept ownership.

This role ensures assets adhere to design tolerances and brand guidelines and supports internal teams in preparing presentations.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Operational Excellence

Review design briefs to ensure comprehension and completeness of information provided in order to execute on requested deliverables and achieve the deliverable objectives

Working with Senior 3D modelers, develop concept renderings driven from customer requests that meet customer expectations and specifications and highlight the key design features

Must be self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical milestones and deadlines

Revise designs based on feedback from internal and external teams

Manage project files in accordance with Company standard requirements and policies

Adheres to company standard operating procedures and policies and utilizes company tools and resources to operate as required on a daily basis

Manage and execute on multiple projects simultaneously during their lifecycle in the studio

Deliver projects On-time In-Full

People Works collaboratively and professionally with internal teams to execute on client deliverables

Work timely and diligently with internal teams to comprehend and/or clarify customer or project requirements

Keeps project teams up to date, as necessary, with respect to key project milestones, issues and/or challenges

Works with the project team when negotiating solutions surrounding project issues/challenges

Communicates effectively and efficiently with internal teams

Leadership & Growth

Ensures team compliance with design brief process and related procedures so as to not compromise project success

Obtains a complete and thorough understanding of the project scope at project hand off in order to effectively and efficiently execute the deliverables





Proactively addresses and delivers solutions on project challenges in order to ensure On-Time In-Full delivery and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of deliverables and requests assistance when necessary

Identifies and communicates in timely fashion, issues with estimated project times and/ or execution time overages that will impact deliverable deadlines and/or compromise upcoming project deadlines

Proactively monitors current and upcoming workload so as to invest the appropriate amount of time into deliverable and not compromise upcoming deliverables

Participate in brainstorming sessions

Demonstrate continuous skill development in modelling, rendering, and retail display fundamentals

Actively seek feedback and apply learnings to improve output quality

Financial

Provides deliverables that meet customer expectations while maintaining focus on customer and internal project budgets

Appropriately controls project scope changes, to ensure project budgets are maintained and/or elevates issues and concerns to internal teams when necessary

Identifies work or projects that are “Out of Scope” from normal activity so as to find a solution to optimize timelines and/or project profitability and elevates to senior designers or the head of graphic design when necessary

Adheres to company standard operating procedures and policies and utilizes company tools and resources to operate as required on a daily basis

Support efficient use of team resources through accurate execution and reduced revision cycles

- Perform other job-related duties consistent with the nature, level, and responsibilities of the position as assigned.

YOU’LL SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE

Up to 2 years of experience in a 3D Modelling role specific to packaging, corrugate POP displays and promotional design

Degree in Graphic Design, Packaging design, Digital Media Design or equivalent work experience/education

Understanding of Adobe Creative Suite

Working knowledge of 3DS Max with V-Ray Ability to produce sketch ideation (informal and formal)

Experience using a large-format printer (an asset)

Effective teamwork capabilities

Ability to manage and organize multiple competing priorities

Superior attention to detail.

Strong organizational and time management skills

Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation

We strive to offer compensation that is fair, competitive, and reflective of each individual’s experience and contributions.

Compensation will vary based on experience and skill level (Developing, Proficient, Highly Proficient, Expert, Management, Senior Leader). Candidates who are continuing to develop key skills may be considered below the range, while those who bring specialized expertise, exceptional impact, or deep industry knowledge may be considered above it.

The target compensation for this role is $55,000 to $65,000 annually and reflects a professional at a Proficient level.
