Job Summary

Job Summary: The Junior Outside Sales Representative is an entry level role designed for individuals interested in building a long term career in technical sales. Initially, the successful candidate will support warehouse operations, local customer deliveries, and customer service while developing a strong understanding of Vytal's products, operations, and customers.

Working closely with experienced sales professionals, the successful candidate will receive hands on training in product applications, customer relationship management, and business development. As knowledge and experience grow, the role will progressively transition toward increased responsibility for managing customer accounts, developing new business opportunities, and supporting territory growth throughout the Grande Prairie region.

This role offers a structured development path through mentorship, on-the-job training, and practical experience, preparing the successful candidate for a future career in technical sales.

Job Responsibilities

Customer Service & Outside Sales

- Safely operate a company vehicle to complete local and regional customer deliveries in varying road and weather conditions.
- Load, unload, and secure materials to ensure safe transportation and prevent damage.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Ensure deliveries are completed accurately, on time, and with the required documentation.
- Obtain customer signatures and maintain accurate delivery records.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and qualified company vehicle.
- Represent Vytal professionally during customer visits by providing exceptional customer service.
- Build positive relationships with customers and identify customer needs, feedback, concerns, and potential sales opportunities.
- Assist with basic product inquiries and refer technical or complex questions to the appropriate team member.
- Accompany senior sales representatives on customer visits to develop product knowledge and outside sales skills.
- Comply with all applicable transportation laws and regulations while operating a company vehicle.

Warehouse Operations

- Receive, inspect, verify, and store incoming materials and products; report shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
- Pick, package, and prepare customer orders for shipment, including building skids, securing loads, and loading trucks.
- Coordinate courier and freight shipments using customer-specified shipping methods and carrier systems.




- Generate and maintain shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, packing lists, and tracking information.
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (training provided if required).
- Maintain organized warehouse storage areas to support efficient operations and inventory control.
- Work closely with Production, Operations, Customer Service, and Office teams to support shipping, receiving, and customer requirements.
- Follow all Health & Safety regulations, company policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in warehouse, shipping, or distribution operations (manufacturing environment preferred).
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Must be insurable under the Company’s commercial auto insurance policy.
- Minimum 2 years of safe driving experience preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
- Experience loading and securing materials for transport.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and shipping systems).
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
