About the role:





The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patientsand families. Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:

- Secondary school diploma
- Mandatory phlebotomy experience
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Assistant from either theMLPAO or the CSLMS is preferred
- Meditech experience is an asset
- Good understanding of, and commitment to QualityManagement/Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively withina team in a fast‑paced environment
- * Provide excellent patient service and ensure confidentiality ofpatient information

Duties include the following:

- Venous, capillary and special collections includingneonatal/pediatric collections, difficult draws
- Prioritize work or create the proper response to Stat, Urgentand Routine requests
- Collaborating with other healthcare providers to ensure qualitypatient care




- Receiving and organizing requests for blood collection
- Dispatch samples to the laboratory
- Assisting with inventory and supply control
- Assist in the orientation/training of current staff or students
- Organizing workload among technical team to ensure theefficiency

Salary Range: $30.840 to 35.150

The Health Sciences Centre strives to ensure the safety andsecurity of the patients, visitors, employees and assets financial and otherwise.
