Essential Job Duties

Sunrise is seeking a warm, caring and dynamic educator with positive classroom and behavior management practices, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to support students with a wide range of abilities and foster an inclusive setting where all students feel safe and welcome.

In addition to teaching both the BC Ministry of Education and Waldorf curricula, responsibilities include:

- Creating comprehensive planning documents (annual, unit, and lesson plans), student assessment and reporting student progress
- Creating positive and inclusive learning spaces, including developing and maintaining IEPs
- Classroom preparation, and organization
- Participating in staff meetings and committee work
- Engaging with parents through meetings and regular communication
- Supervising duty, such as at lunch, recess and after school periods
- Pursuing ongoing professional development
- Participating in and supporting festivals, recitals, and field trips

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Education, a B.C. Teaching Certificate, Waldorf teacher training, and teaching experience in a Waldorf school.

Employment Details

Salary Range: $55,120 to $79,627 depending on qualifications and experience
