This is a casual (evenings and weekends) position, ending on or before June 30,2027, with the possibility of extension.
Under the general supervision of the Library Help Desk Supervisor, the Library provides front-line support to students, faculty, staff, and the public. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities that require technical proficiency, adaptability, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent service in a fast-paced, multifaceted setting.
- Circulating a broad range of equipment and reading materials, promoting both academic success and personal enrichment.
- Providing basic reference assistance and responding to directional and informational inquiries, while triaging more complex questions to appropriate staff.
- Operating and supporting large-format printing & finishing services, ensuring high-quality output for posters and presentations.
- Providing front-line support at the Library Help Desk by assisting patrons, guiding them with technology, and managing administrative tasks to ensure efficient service.
- Shelving.
- Knowledge of library management system processes, back-end and front-facing.
- Knowledge of productivity and design software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe creative cloud applications.
- Knowledge of wide format printing, design setup, material selection.
- Good understanding of related customer service methods and techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Application of high-level accuracy when handling repetitive task.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Some related experience is required
- Library-related education/experience is considered an asset
- Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).
Classification – Administrative Support III. This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
Remuneration: Refer to salary range noted on this posting, plus 12% in lieu of statutory holidays and vacation pay. The compensation range for this job posting is : $23.26 - $29.91.
