Position Logistics Coordinator Import-Export Location North York Position Description (A brief overview of the overall purpose of the position) Reports directly to the Logistics Supervisor. Ensures that all incoming and outgoing shipment orders have the proper control documentation for customs and are transported in a suitable, economic and expeditious way.
Major Responsibilities (The fundamental and crucial job duties performed in the position, not including managerial marginal functions) % of Time Essential Job Functions ● Prepares Shipment Log and tracks shipment status on a regular basis, working with production and sales department ● Manage carrier portfolio, develop relationships and operational understanding, match preferred carriers with freight, and work with carriers as determined by the company ● Prepares and submits proper documentation for bank presentation for export letters of credit and cash against documents. Submits invoices for progress payments on jobs where instructed and requested. ● Proactively communicate pertinent shipment details to/from motor carriers, and internal team. ● Resolve issues respective to customer inquiries, data input and general customer service related to tracking & tracing Other Principal Responsibilities / Accountabilities ● Coordinates tagging, labelling, marking and other special shipping instructions as required.
● Coordinates with sales department to ensure that information regarding shipments is properly gathered and organized for regular reporting. 50% 50% Performance Objectives (KPI’s) ● Process daily outgoing shipments at 100% ensuring shipments have the proper control documentation for customs. ● Maintain the integrity of the shipment, import, and export database at 100% which will serve as a source of reference and for report generation.
Main Requirements
Academic/Professional Education College Degree in Business or a related field of study.
Relevant
Experience ● Knowledge of INCOTERM (eg DDP, CIP, EXW ) due to complexity of shipping requirements ● 1-2 years of experience in Import-Export coordination in a manufacturing workplace is valuable. ● Excellent communication and ability to prioritize tasks, working with changing customer shipping schedules and production team Technical Skills/Knowledge ● Knowledge of export letters of credit, bank guarantees, sight drafts and financial instruments used in international business would be beneficial. ● INCOTERMS experience and exposure is required ● Good computer skill (Excel, Microsoft suites, ERP and TMS Systems, etc.) is essential.
Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
