Duties
- Safely operate log trucks along designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct pre-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and daily activity reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, logging crews, and site personnel to coordinate pickups and drop-offs
- Follow all safety protocols,
including use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to environmental guidelines
Skills
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with an acceptable driving record
- Proven experience operating heavy trucks, preferably in forestry or freight transportation
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety standards in logging operations
- Basic repair skills for routine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and ensure smooth operations
