About the Job:

The Golden Dawn Senior Citizen Home is accepting applications for maintenance personnel. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing based and assessed based on departmental vacancies.

The successful applicant must demonstrate positive behaviour and attitude. Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, patience, flexibility and adaptability are required in this role.

Responsibilities Overview:

- Ensures building safety and that all equipment operates efficiently by complying with safety regulations and policies relating to maintenance care.
- Organizes and/or performs all maintenance and repairs involving buildings and grounds.
- Coordinates maintenance and repair activities with functions of other departments.
- Available to assist other departments when needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

- High School diploma.




- Must have the ability to diagnose and solve mechanical and other problems.
- A good understanding and experience in commercial building construction (heating, air exchangers, plumbing and electrical, drywall, generators, exhaust fans, fire equipment) is an asset.
- A good understanding and experience with commercial equipment (washing machines, dryers, floor polishers, refrigerators, gas ovens and dishwashers) is an asset.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as a team is an asset.
- Excellent time management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are an asset.
- Available for non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.

About Us: Golden Dawn Senior Citizen Home is a non-profit, long-term care and senior apartment complex located in the village of Lion's Head, Ontario, part of the beautiful Bruce Peninsula. Golden Dawn Senior Citizen Home is a registered charity and licensed in with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
