We are currently seeking an experienced Manager, Field Projects to join our Edmonton Head Office team.

About the Role
Reporting to the Vice President, Field Operations, the Manager, Field Projects is responsible for the overall leadership and execution of Altex's field projects. This role oversees multiple projects and Project Managers, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while supporting business growth and operational excellence.
Working closely with clients, Project Managers, Field Supervisors, Estimating, Engineering, Operations, and support teams, the Manager, Field Projects provides leadership, allocates resources, manages project risk, supports business development, and mentors employees throughout the project lifecycle. Regular travel to customer and project sites across Canada is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for multiple industrial field projects.
- Lead, mentor, and support Project Managers and project teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with client requirements.
- Monitor project performance, resource utilization, schedules, costs, and financial results.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Support project planning, execution, risk management, and problem resolution.
- Review project estimates, budgets, forecasts, and change management.
- Promote continuous improvement, quality, and safety throughout all field operations.
- Support business development activities, client meetings, and proposal reviews.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure successful project execution.
Qualifications Required
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related discipline
OR
- Journeyperson trades certification combined with significant industrial project management experience
- Minimum 8 years of project management experience in industrial maintenance, fabrication, construction, or field services.
- Previous experience leading project teams or supervising Project Managers.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Experience using Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred
- PMP (Project Management Professional) designation.
- Membership with APEGA, ASET, or another recognized professional association.
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power Generation, or Heavy Industrial projects.
- Knowledge of ASME, API, TEMA, or related industry codes and standards.
- Experience managing project financial performance, forecasting, and client contracts.
