This position is eligible for telework for applicants who reside in Minnesota or in a bordering state, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance. If you live in a state bordering Minnesota, you must live within 50 miles or less from the primary work location to be eligible for telework.

The position exists to interview persons with a communication disability that have trouble accessing a standard telephone. Applications received will be reviewed and program eligibility will be determined. The consumer’s communication technology needs will be determined and training/installation will be provided when needed.

The position will provide pertinent resources including information about other support services and telephone/internet discount programs. Including assisting MN ACT consumer(s) to complete telephone/internet discount applications. Follow-up service to current clients such as responding to repairs, troubleshooting and/or re-assessing a consumers assisted telephone needs will be provide.

In addition, the position is responsible to execute a statewide public relation plan for MN ACT and Minnesota Relay in their region. The position will be responsible to manage and monitor regional inventory for in-person appointments. Lastly, the position will educate MN ACT consumers about other assistive technology that benefit them.

Minimum Qualifications Must have work experience providing assistive technology installation, technical support, and training for consumers with a disability.

Experience Must Clearly Demonstrate

- Variety of experience working effectively with persons with a wide range of disabilities.
- Experience installing, configuring, and providing training on the use of technology for individuals with varying levels of technical proficiency.




- Customer service experience with the ability to build positive relationships and provide effective communication across multiple platforms, including in-person, telephone, video, and email interactions.
- Problem solving skills to troubleshoot technical assistive technology issues and match the consumer with the correct device.
- Ability to adhere to established procedures while accurately tracking, updating, and maintaining database records.
- Signing Skills sufficient to communicate fluently in American Sign Language.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

- Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
- Experience working with deaf, hard of hearing, seniors with hearing loss (non-ASL users), physically disabled and speech disabled individuals.
- Possess positive organizational and time management skills.
- Inventory management experience of assets
- The ability to adapt to each consumer's unique needs while providing person-centered support.
- Experience representing an organization through community outreach, informational booths, presentations, and public engagement.
- Proficient in using technology with the ability to adapt to new and evolving technologies.
