Little Ray's Exhibitions is looking for a temporary Wildlife Interpreter to join our team at the Vancouver Aquarium!

This is a great opportunity for an educator who wants to work in a supportive environment with a fun, energetic, and dedicated staff. Weekend availability is a must. Typically two to three 8-hour shifts per week (with occasional sick day or special events coverage). Starting September 2026 - January 2027 with opportunity to extend to January 2028.

Job Summary

Interpreters are responsible for animal care duties (cleaning habitats, feedings etc.)

Interpreters are responsible for holding informative and entertaining presentations for guests throughout the day.

Interpreters will handle a wide variety of animals safely, conscientiously, and according to company policies – we will offer training on this where needed.





Interpreters will engage with the public in a warm, welcoming, positive, and professional manner.

Interpreters will maintain the life support systems (lights, heat, and water) in each habitat and ensure they are maintained to be aesthetically pleasing and safe.

During the set up and tear down phase of the exhibit, interpreters will help set up habitats, which will require lifting, climbing ladders, and other manual labour.

Qualifications

Must be able to reliably travel to Vancouver Aquarium

Experience with reptile management a robust asset

Experience with public education a strong asset

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16-24
