The Royal BC Museum is located on the traditional territory of the the lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) peoples, known today as the Songhees and Xwsepsum Nations.

Job Overview

Reporting to the Archives Access Team Lead, this position provides receptionist services for the Royal BC Museum and Archives.

As a first point of contact front-line staff, you will act as the main information and reception point, ensuring professional,



customer-focused and welcoming service for all visitors including general public, schools, large group bookings, researchers, government officials, community groups and contractors.

Note: This role will be based at PARC Campus, the provincial archives, research and collections building in Colwood, BC as of November/December, 2026.

Qualifications

We are currently looking for a Receptionist who will bring a wealth of expertise and initiative to our team. The ideal candidate will have a Secondary School graduation or equivalent plus 1-year related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered. Preference may be given to applicants with more than one year of experience working in a customer-facing role. Knowledge of BC cultural and natural history, and the Royal BC Museum and IMAX Victoria’s programs and services, along with the ability to communicate effectively in a quick-paced environment will be assets in this position.
