We are looking for a dedicated Parts Manager to keep our warehouse organized, our service vans fully stocked, and our operations running smoothly.
Position Summary The Parts Manager oversees all inventory, procurement, shipping, and receiving of plumbing, heating, and HVAC parts and materials. You will act as the vital link between our office dispatch, field technicians, and external suppliers to ensure the right parts are available at the right time while controlling costs and maintaining accurate inventory logs. - Inventory Management: Maintain accurate stock levels of residential/commercial plumbing fixtures, pipe, fittings, valves, thermostats, and heating/boiler components.
- Procurement & Purchasing: Source and order parts from local suppliers, negotiating competitive pricing and managing vendor relationships.
- Van Stocking: Coordinate with field technicians to ensure service vehicles are properly stocked, and daily/weekly material requisitions are fulfilled.
- Shipping & Receiving: Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage, process packing slips, and stock warehouse shelves promptly.
- System Tracking: Utilize inventory software systems to log parts usage, track high-turnover items, minimize shrinkage, and assist the office with accurate job-costing and invoicing records.
- Safety & Organization: Maintain a clean, protected, and organized warehouse environment in compliance with Alberta workplace safety standards.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service for walk-in customers, assist in determining needed parts and ordering. Great communication skills required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum [1–3] years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or parts management—ideally within the plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or broader construction/trade industry.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with plumbing, heating, and gas-fitting parts and materials is a strong asset.
- Tech Skills: Proficient with computer systems, inventory management software, and MS Office (Excel).
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional multi-tasking, time-management, and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Requirements: Valid Alberta driver’s license and clean abstract; ability to lift and move heavy inventory items (up to 50 lbs) as required.
