EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time Contract until March 31, 2028 (possibility of extension pending funding)

We work with our 11 First Nation community partners and the IFC in the provision of primary health care, traditional healing, mental wellness and addictions, home and community support services, and health promotion services.

The opportunity: The Peer Support Outreach Worker plays a vital role within the Mobile Mental Health & Addictions Unit by providing relationship-based, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, substance use concerns, and related social vulnerabilities. Drawing on personal lived experience, the Peer Support Outreach Worker offers empathy, hope, and practical support while helping clients navigate services, build stability, and reconnect with community resources.



This role supports engagement with individuals who may face barriers to traditional systems of care and contributes to culturally grounded, holistic, and client-centered service delivery.

What to expect? Given the traditional practices of Indigenous people, from time-to-time exposure to smoke from the burning of sacred medicines such as tobacco, sweet grass, sage or cedar may occur.

Required Skills What you need to bring with you:

- Lived experience with mental health challenges and/or substance use, with demonstrated stability in recovery and readiness to support others.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mental health, addictions, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction principles.
- Experience working with vulnerable or marginalized populations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and boundary-setting skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history and ability to provide a satisfactory driver’s abstract.




- Ability to operate a mobile outreach unit vehicle.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Naloxone training (or willingness to obtain).
