People & Culture Business Partner (18 Month Term)
Help Shape the Employee Experience at Edmonton International Airport (YEG)

We’re looking for an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to join our team on a 18 month temporary assignment. Reporting to the Manager, People Operations, you’ll partner with leaders across the organization to provide strategic and operational People & Culture support that helps teams thrive.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys building trusted relationships, navigating complex employee and labour relations matters, coaching leaders, and helping create an exceptional employee experience in a dynamic, unionized environment.
What You’ll Do
As a trusted advisor, you’ll work closely with leaders to support their people strategies while ensuring consistent application of People & Culture programs and practices across the organization.
Your responsibilities will include
- Building strong partnerships with leaders by providing practical, business-focused advice on employee relations, labour relations, organizational change, performance management and employee development.
- Coaching leaders through complex workplace situations, helping them make confident and informed people decisions.
- Managing employee and labour relations matters including investigations, grievances, conflict resolution, attendance management, accommodations and policy interpretation.
- Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, collective agreements and organizational policies.
- Supporting organizational change initiatives, workforce transitions, restructures and offboarding activities.
- Implementing enterprise People & Culture programs such as performance management, succession planning, leadership development, employee engagement and learning initiatives.
- Delivering and reinforcing People & Culture training and supporting leaders through the adoption of new programs and initiatives.
- Working collaboratively with the broader People & Culture team to provide consistent, responsive and high-quality service across the organization.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical HR expertise with excellent relationship-building skills and sound judgement.
You bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- CPHR designation (or working toward designation) is considered an asset.
- Five or more years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Experience supporting leaders in a unionized environment, including employee and labour relations.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, collective agreement administration and HR best practices.
- Experience leading or supporting organizational change initiatives.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
