Health Centre Pharmacy has been proudly serving the St. Thomas and surrounding area for over 35 years! We are looking for an experienced full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our growing team! Job Duties & Responsibilities:

- Greet customers warmly and provide professional, friendly assistance.
- Enter prescription data into PropelRx software, manage and update patient profiles, and assist in the accurate preparation, submission, and troubleshooting of third-party insurance claims.
- Ensure accurate counting, labeling and packaging of prescription medications.
- Assist customers in locating and selecting products, including over-the-counter medications and health-related items.
- Perform medication inventory management, including stock rotation and monitoring expiry dates.
- Maintain a clean and organized dispensing area, ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations.
- Assist in maintaining prescription files and records.
- Perform general administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and handling correspondence.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy and front store teams to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant (at least 2 years) is required.
- Post-secondary education in pharmacy or a related field is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology,



prescription processing, and dispensing procedures.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software system (PropelRx) is an asset.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications and customer transactions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, occasionally lift or move up to 20lbs, occasionally use a ladder or step stool to retrieve merchandise, stock shelves, lift, bend, and reach throughout the day.
- Manual dexterity to operate POS, computer, phone, and other standard retail equipment.
- Flexibility to work during hours of operation at our two St. Thomas pharmacy locations, including some evenings and weekends: Health Centre Pharmacy at 230 First Ave. St. and Elmdale Medical Pharmacy at 25 Elm St.
