Part time Pharmacy Student (preferably a student in the pharmacy program or sciences) Posting –Victoria Park Pharmacy (1314 Victoria Park Avenue) - 1-2 shifts per week (usually~6 hour shifts)
Victoria Park Pharmacy is looking for a part-time pharmacy student/assistant who has strong motivation and leadership skills to help further grow the pharmacy. Victoria Park Pharmacy is a local independent pharmacy that was established over 50 years ago with the sole purpose of providing high quality personalized care to patients around the East York community.
Responsibilities
- Supporting pharmacists in providing patient care in dispensary with duties such as: processing and filling prescriptions, documentation of clinical programs such as pharmaceutical opinions and immunizations, answering phone/fax in a professional manner
- Abide by approved prescriptions, duties and responsibilities as per the Ontario College of Pharmacy regulations
- Assist in preparing compliance blister packaging and simple non-sterile compounding
- Monitoring of site refrigeration temperatures and reporting any variances directly to the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist on-duty
- Pharmacy opening and closing duties
- Create a healthy learning environment for students on site
- Inventory management including ordering and receiving of drugs and supplies
- Assist with general over-the-counter inquiries
- Assist with cashier responsibilities as required
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist on-duty
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Experience in working in the community pharmacy industry, including third party billing issues
- Self-starting and independent, as well as strong motivation to succeed
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Computer proficiency (Fillware or Kroll)
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting
- Professional and strong customer service skills
- Hours of operations: Mon-Fri 9:30-6:30pm, Sat 9:30-3pm – schedules may change based on organizational needs
Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $19.00 per hour
