The Power BI Coach is looking for its next Power BI Data Specialist (Part-Time Contract) to join our growing team across Canada!
About You
You're a Power BI professional who is passionate about transforming data into meaningful business insights. You are someone who:
- Has advanced expertise in Power BI, DAX, Power Query (M), SQL, and data modelling to build impactful reporting solutions.
- Thrives in a client-facing environment , confidently translating business needs into clear, actionable dashboards and reports.
- Takes ownership of your work, managing multiple priorities while delivering high-quality, detail-oriented results .
- Is collaborative, proactive, and committed to continuous learning, always looking for better ways to solve business challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations that meet client and stakeholder requirements.
- Gather business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions and effective data models.
- Develop and optimize data models using DAX and Power Query (M).
- Connect, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources, including SQL databases, Excel, cloud services, and APIs.
- Ensure reporting solutions are accurate, reliable, high-performing, and scalable.
- Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) while following data governance and security best practices.
- Present dashboards, reporting solutions, and insights to clients in a professional and engaging manner.
- Provide end-user training, documentation, and ongoing support.
- Troubleshoot reporting issues and continuously improve existing Power BI solutions.
- Collaborate with internal team members and client stakeholders to deliver projects on time and to the highest standard.
What Makes You the Right Fit
- Minimum of 5 years' professional experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Advanced expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI data modelling.
- Robust SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
- Solid understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience administering Power BI Service, including workspaces, gateways, scheduled refreshes, and app deployment.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience working directly with clients and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouses, Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, OneLake, or Synapse Data Engineering.
- Microsoft certifications such as PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst) and/or DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer).
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, or Azure Synapse.
- Previous consulting or agency experience.
