We currently have an opening in Niagara/Hamilton ON for a: Project Field Coordinator The Project Field Coordinator will support the planning, coordination, documentation, and execution of construction activities on a major rail and transit infrastructure project.
How will you contribute to the team?
To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Support the Site Supervisor, Superintendent, and Project Manager with the coordination of daily construction activities across multiple work fronts.
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers, consultants, and internal project teams to support safe and effective project execution.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and technical documentation to identify field requirements and potential constructability issues.
- Prepare, track, and coordinate requests for information, submittals, shop drawings, site instructions, change documentation, and other project correspondence.
- Conduct regular site walks and inspections to monitor construction progress, workmanship, safety, and compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Identify field issues, discrepancies, and deficiencies and coordinate their resolution with site supervision, engineering, quality, and subcontractor teams.
- Support the preparation and implementation of daily work plans, weekly look-ahead schedules, and construction sequencing activities.
- Promote compliance with company safety policies, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, project procedures, and applicable rail and transit authority requirements.
Education and Experience:
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field,
or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2–5+ years of construction coordination or field experience on infrastructure, civil, transportation, rail, transit, or major commercial projects.
- Experience working on rail or transit projects, Metrolinx projects, or within active rail corridors is considered a strong asset.
- Practical understanding of construction methods, sequencing, site logistics, and field operations.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, trades, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, schedules, and technical documentation.
- Experience managing requests for information, submittals, deficiencies, site instructions, change documentation, and construction records.
Salary Range: Between $75,000 - $100,000, depending on experience
