We are seeking a highly organized and personable individual to join our team as a Receptionist/Optometric Assistant. This full-time position involves managing front desk operations, performing Pre-tests, visual field tests and fundus photography and assisting with dispensing when needed. The ideal candidate will have experience in these areas and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check-in patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient records
- Perform Pre-tests on patients before their appointments
- Perform visual field tests and fundus photography on patients when needed
- Process payments and handle insurance claims
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Support optometrists with administrative tasks as needed
- Help maintain the dispensary and aid with spectacle and contact lens needs
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an optometric office or similar healthcare setting is an asset but not required
- Certified Canadian Optometric Assistant (CCOA) is an asset but not required
- Proficiency in French is an asset
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Billing/Insurance experience and EMR proficiency is an asset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced workplace
