Surrey PoliceService (SPS) is Surrey’s new municipal police agency. On November 29, 2024,SPS became the police of jurisdiction, and assumed responsibility and commandfor policing and law enforcement in Surrey. POSITION OVERVIEW

SurreyPolice Service (SPS) has an exciting prospect for two Regular Full-TimeRecords Clerk 3's to join our Information Management and Technology Division,within the Corporate Services Bureau. Reporting to the Records Team Manager,the incumbent performs intermediate data entry work utilizing Surrey PoliceService (SPS) and other policing agency electronic data systems.

Schedule / Hours of Work

The anticipated schedule for this position is 35 hours per week. Please note, the hours are subject to change based on operational needs and adherence to the Collective Agreement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Performsdata collection, entry, and retrieval using SPS electronic data systems.
- Reviewsscores, forwards general occurrences to the appropriate sections and/orconcludes files based on predetermined criteria.
- Providesinformation from files to SPS staff, public, and outside agencies.
- Inputsaccurate information and details from files.




- Screensand/or refers requests to the appropriate SPS staff or agency.
- Assistsother staff in performing their duties.
- Performsother job-related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

- Completionof Grade 12, supplemented by in-house courses relevant to the SPS recordssystem currently in use, plus two years relevant experience or an equivalentcombination of training and experience.
- Typingspeed of 45 wpm
- Allapplicants must obtain and maintain the required police clearance throughouttheir employment with SPS. This role also requires RCMP Reliability Status(security clearance).

- This is a unionized position, representedby CUPE 402.
- The salary range is $30.12 to $31.97 ( pay grade 12) based on 2024 rates.
