Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Dietitian to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nutrition and dietetics, with the ability to assess individual dietary needs and provide tailored nutritional guidance. This role is essential in promoting health and wellness among our clients, ensuring they receive the best possible dietary advice to support their health goals.

The role is 8 hours per week, with flexible days and hours according to the facility's needs. A gas stipend is provided to support travel to the facility.

Duties

- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for clients, including evaluating dietary habits and health status.
- Develop personalized meal plans that align with clients' health objectives and dietary restrictions.
- Provide education on nutrition-related topics, including healthy eating habits, food preparation, and portion control.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create integrated care plans for clients.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office (word, excel), email and internet




- Demonstrates creative problem solving, ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines and committees to achieve excellence in care.
- Stay updated on the latest research in nutrition and dietary practices to ensure evidence-based recommendations.

Qualifications

- Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition at a recognized university.
- Current membership in Nova Scotia Dietetic Association required
- Experience in long term care geriatric nutrition preferred.
- Robust customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients effectively.
- Proficient computer operation skills for documentation and communication purposes.
- Excellent organizational skills, time management and attention to detail.

Job Type: Part-time Pay: $35.00-$47.00 per hour
