This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager and is responsible for receiving, preparing, and delivering prescriptions accurately and timely; ensuring adequate inventory levels, counseling patients, and providing public‑relations education. It is a relief role with occasional travel within the Central/Southern Alberta region. What you’ll do - Prepare, dispense and control medications accurately and timely to patients - Ensure medication and over‑the-counter supplement inventory levels are adequate to meet patients’ needs - Provide friendly, positive and proactive counseling to patients about new and additional medications - Create awareness and educate customers through public‑relations activities (public health days, clinics, etc.) - Provide timely and positive resolution to patients’ needs and doctors’ requests/issues - Review and control costs at all levels within the Loblaw Pharmacy (dispensary)
- Provide ongoing training for new and existing pharmacy colleagues (technicians, interns, students, IPGs) - Responsible for receiving, preparing and delivering prescriptions and clinical services (within scope) accurately and timely What you’ll need - Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a valid Class A Pharmacist’s license - Superior customer‑relations skills and a strong sense of professionalism - Excellent leadership and performance‑management skills - Proven ability to build the business using community‑based marketing strategies - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Strong problem‑solving skills, including experience formulating and executing action plans - Robust personal computing skills and knowledge of Healthwatch Pharmacy systems (definite asset)
