Penn‑co Construction is a leading construction company currently hiring a Safety Manager to join our team at our Steinbach office. As the Safety Manager you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures to ensure a protected working environment for all employees.
Responsibilities - Lead and manage the safety team to ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety‑related inquiries and concerns within the organization
- Conduct site inspections, identify hazards, and implement solutions to mitigate risks
- Develop and implement safety programs for employees and contractors
- Investigate and report on all accidents, incidents, and near misses
- Ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained and used correctly
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions
- Stay up to date with industry safety standards and best practices
- Able to travel to remote sites in Canada Qualifications - Diploma or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred
- NCSO or equivalent certification from a recognized training institution
- A Class 5 driver’s license with willingness to travel
- Proven experience in a safety management role or similar position
- Experience in the construction field
- Strong knowledge of Canadian safety regulations and standards
- A leader who is relational, collaborative, and confident in their ability to influence others
- Sensitivity and adaptability to different cultures and environments
