Role - Senior Analytical Chemist (R&D;)
Location - Concord, Canada
Purpose The Senior Analytical Chemist will be a key member of the R&D; team who will be responsible for Analytical method development activities. This role will require method development, document preparation and supervisory activities as required in a timely manner as per organization needs.

Job Responsibilities / Deliverables
Maintains in-depth knowledge of current analytical and best quality practice requirements to provide execution, documentation and technical input to teams during product development.
Perform analytical method development and method validation for new pharmaceutical products
Evaluate all results generated for consistency and accuracy and notify manager of any trends, atypical results or out-of-specification results
Perform troubleshooting and problem solving of analytical instrumentation
Ensure that work is performed in compliance with GMP, GLP, SOPs, and current test methods.
Mentoring and supervising lab personnel including lab assistant, junior chemists and other members
Allocation of work to team members as per priority in consultation with manager
Develop and validate HPLC, GC and product performance test methods for pharmaceutical products as required
Prepare documents and reports necessary for development and GMP activities
Develop specifications for finished products, bulk product, raw materials and packaging components
Will strive to meet the Quality and Timeline Goals required for the timely completion of the project along with other team members of Analytical,
Formulation Development, and Project Management teams.
Ensures that appropriate co-ordination is achieved with external Laboratories, vendors and other sources required for the timely completion of the identified projects.
Implements and assists the Analytical team to build capabilities and processes that facilitate analytical excellence and best practices for the identified projects, processes and techniques
Participates in GMP audits of contract manufacturing and testing sites in the capacity of an Analytical SME
Executes analytical work, writes and peer-reviews work done by analytical team members, including analytical documentation from internal and external sources to ensure compliance/alignment with analytical methodology required.
Develops and facilitates excellence in key areas required for Analytical Development towards the identified product development requirements
Plays a proactive role in the analytical team to achieve teams’ goals
Liaises with QA and R&D; team counterparts to harmonise the timely development of products for Rubicon.
Ensure that work is performed in compliance with GMP, GLP, SOPs, and current test methods.
Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Pre-Requisites
M.Sc. degree or equivalent in an applicable discipline of science (pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, medical laboratory science or related)
At least 8 years of experience in a pharmaceutical R&D; laboratory and / or CMO setting
Analytical skills required to handle complex products
Experience in development of nasal products will be an asset
Great attitude and motivated to learn current skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Additional notes
Role may be required to work in afternoon shift (12 pm to 8 pm) on a need basis.
