Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Drafting Lead to take full ownership of our drafting function.

This role is suited for an experienced professional who can operate independently, produce high-quality fabrication drawings, and provide leadership within the drafting group. You will play a key role in ensuring drawing quality, consistency, and efficiency across all projects, working closely with engineering, project management, and shop personnel.

Core Responsibilities

· Develop and maintain detailed fabrication drawings using AutoCAD and CADWorx, including PDFs, P&IDs;, pressure vessels, piping layouts, and structural skids

· Produce complete, fabrication-ready drawing packages, including BOMs and shop details

· Ensure all deliverables meet applicable codes and standards (ASME Section VIII, B31.3, CSA Z662, B149.1, etc.)

· Prepare and manage CRN submissions for pressure vessels and piping systems

· Coordinate closely with engineering and project teams to resolve design and fabrication challenges

· Lead internal design/model reviews and support client reviews as required

· Establish, maintain,



and continuously improve drafting standards, templates, and workflows

· Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical direction to junior drafting staff

Experience & Technical Capability

· 10+ years of drafting experience in oil & gas or heavy industrial fabrication environments

· Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and CADWorx

· Strong working knowledge of pressure vessel design, piping systems, and structural fabrication

· Experience preparing CRN packages and working within applicable regulatory frameworks

· Demonstrate ability to produce accurate, detailed, and fabrication-ready drawings with minimal supervision

· Solid problem-solving ability with a practical understanding of shop fabrication requirements

· Proven ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and support multiple projects simultaneously
