Role Description The Senior Electrical Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Canada. This role is responsible for preparing detailed electrical estimates for construction projects, including quantity take-offs, labor and material pricing, and tender submissions.

Estimator reviews drawings and specifications, identifies risks and opportunities, and collaborates with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify scope and ensure accurate costing. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing bids, maintaining cost databases, supporting value engineering efforts, and participating in bid reviews and negotiations.



The role also contributes to process improvements in estimating practices and mentors estimation team members as needed.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Electrical Estimating, including quantity take-offs, bid preparation, and tender analysis.
- Experience with Cost Control and project budgeting in a construction or engineering environment.
- Background in Electrical Contracting, with familiarity in installation methods, materials, and field practices.
- Solid understanding of Electricity principles and electrical systems relevant to commercial and industrial projects.
- Education or qualified experience in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office (especially Excel); experience with construction management tools is an asset.
- Knowledge of Canadian building codes, electrical standards, and safety regulations.
- Robust analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
- Previous experience in a senior or lead estimating role within the electrical construction industry is highly beneficial.
