SUMMARY Reporting into Director, Finance, the SFA, Treasury will work closely with Corporate Finance, Shared Services, Tax, IT, Procurement, and Operational teams to maintain and further standardize GIP treasury operations and cash management processes across legal entities and business divisions in order to best serve the Company’s growing business needs.
The role also carries a significant analytical and reporting mandate, supporting the Director, Finance with financial analysis for board reporting, management decision-support reporting, and the preparation of materials for lenders, credit rating agencies, and private equity investors.
PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE
FINANCIAL ANALYSIS & STAKEHOLDER REPORTING
- Prepare and assist the Director, Finance with financial analysis for board reporting.
- Assist in management reporting that is used for decision making.
- Assist in the preparation of materials for lenders, credit rating agencies, and private equity investors.
EQUIPMENT LEASE FINANCING PROGRAM
- Expand, monitor, and maintain the Equipment Lease Financing Program such that it represents an optimal source of funding available to support GIP capex investing activity on a permanent basis.
- Lead equipment lease payment reconciliations for month-end closing purposes.
CASH MANAGEMENT & BANKING OPERATIONS
- Perform treasury review, due diligence, and approval of payments.
- Assist the GIP Treasury Manager with the optimization of GIP’s treasury and cash management operational structure, banking services, number of bank accounts, and KYC due diligence in connection with business integration and M&A; transactions as required.
- Work with Operations and Procurement to continue transitioning vendor payment methods from paper cheques to EFT.
- Assist the Treasury Manager in maintaining and improving intercompany funding processes.
CASH FLOW FORECASTING & TREASURY REPORTING
- Assist with continuous improvement actions that benefit the weekly cash flow forecasting capabilities and the existing treasury reporting dashboards.
CORPORATE CREDIT CARD PROGRAM
- Administer and coordinate the Corporate Credit Card Program, along with daily support of cardholders’ requests.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT, CONTROLS & BUSINESS SUPPORT
- Co-lead Treasury continuous improvement initiatives, business process documentation, compliance of treasury controls, and support audit requirements as needed.
- Assist in providing guidance and support on day-to-day inquiries from Operational teams and the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) departments as required.
- Support Treasury Team during periods of annual external audit.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- Pursuing CPA designation.
- 3+ years of Financial Analyst experience, preferably in Construction or Asphalt industry.
- Excellent communication skills to convey financial information effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in financial software and MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups, macros).
- Comfortable learning and developing technical knowledge in Treasury and ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail and capability to identify potential financial risk and opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deliverables.
- A high-energy, collaborative thinker and detail-oriented individual with strong motivation to exceed expectations when delivering results.
- Demonstrated versatility and resourcefulness in overcoming business challenges.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Expected Base Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per year.
- The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity and work location.
