Ki3 Photonics is a high-tech company dedicated to pushing the boundaries of quantum technologies. We build the hardware and software backbone for quantum networks running over standard telecom fiber. As a dynamic and growing company, we are looking for a skilled technician who can take a system spanning optics, electronics, and mechanics from a blank CAD sheet to a finished, rack-mounted instrument.

What you'll actually build

You will own end-to-end integration projects. Think: taking an optical source, a set of fiber-optic components, control electronics elements and turning them into a fully packaged, field-ready instrument, with mechanical housing, optics, electronics, and firmware-facing hardware all working together

You'll be a good fit if you've

- Integrated or packaged fiber-optic components and lasers into finished products. Fiber splicing/termination, alignment, coupling, and connectorization are second nature to you
- Designed mechanical enclosures and optical mounts in CAD (SolidWorks, Onshape, or similar) from concept to manufacturable parts
- Designed and laid out PCBs (ECAD) and understand how electronics, firmware,



and optics interact inside a real instrument
- Worked with lasers, optical test equipment, and standard electrical test gear (oscilloscopes, etc.) comfortable troubleshooting across disciplines
- Mentored or directed other technical staff. You'll be guiding a small team of CAD/mechanical technicians, reviewing their mechanical designs and folding in the optical/electrical requirements they have not accounted for
- Background at a Quebec photonics company
- CNC machining knowledge, 3D printing for prototyping, integrated optics packaging
- Experience with quantum, atomic, or precision optical reference systems

Must be able to legally work in Canada and relocate to the Montreal area full time
