Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.Appointment Dates: September 8, 2026 to January 8, 2027 Sessional Dates (including exam periods): https://www.utsc.utoronto.ca/registrar/fall-2026-winter-2027-academic-dates Course Schedule and Delivery Method listed on our Timetable: https://ttb.utoronto.ca/ Course Enrollment (est.): 50 Number of Positions (est.): 1 Number of Hours (est.): 45 Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Linguistics with a focus on morphology or syntax. Sound knowledge and understanding of the subject matter.

Robust research program in linguistic diversity and cross-linguistic analysis.





Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a Sessional Instructional Assistant for LINC13H3. Previous research experience with nominals, grammatical features of nouns (person, number, gender, case, etc.), noun phrases (morphosyntax and semantics of the noun phrase), DPs, and argument structure. Research experience involving a range of typologically diverse languages, including Indigenous languages and languages from major language families such as Indo-European.

Duties: Grading of assignments, quizzes, midterms, and final examinations; entering grades into Quercus; assisting with the creation of assignments and answer keys.
