Role Description The Set Up Technician – Afternoon Shift is a full time, on-site role based in Oro-Medonte, ON. This role is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and troubleshooting injection molding presses and related equipment to ensure efficient, high-quality production. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing molds, configuring machine parameters, performing start-up and shut-down procedures, and verifying parts against quality specifications.

The Set Up

Technician collaborates closely with production, maintenance,



and quality teams to resolve process issues, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The role also includes completing production documentation, following safety and housekeeping standards, and supporting training of other team members on proper set-up procedures.

Qualifications

- Experience with injection molding machine set-up, mold installation, and basic troubleshooting of presses and auxiliary equipment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including reading production drawings, using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges), and following quality standards.
- Understanding of process parameters such as temperature, pressure, cycle times, and material handling in a plastics manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work safely, follow standard operating procedures, and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced production setting.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across shifts and departments.
- Previous experience in injection molding or precision manufacturing; technical diploma or apprenticeship in a related field is an asset.
- Willingness to work afternoon shifts on-site in Oro-Medonte, ON, with reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
