Work Schedule & Overtime
This position requires flexibility in work hours. Overtime is expected as part of the role and is scheduled based on customer demand and production requirements. Candidates must be willing and able to work extended hours, including occasional weekends, to support business needs.
Overtime Compensation
- Overtime premium is paid at 1.5x base rate of pay after 38.33 hours
- Double time premium is paid at 2x base rate of pay after 46 hours

Area of Accountability: Responsible for team performance, material flow, inventory accuracy, adherence to safety, quality, FIFO and 5S standards, and the communication and resolution of daily operational issues within the logistics department. Job Summary: The Logistics Team Leader is responsible for coordinating daily logistics activities and providing leadership, training, and support to Logistics Team Members. This role ensures the safe and efficient movement of materials, supports production requirements, maintains inventory accuracy, and promotes compliance with safety, quality, FIFO, and 5S standards while driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Support:
- Lead daily shift startup meetings and communicate safety, quality, delivery, and production priorities.
- Provide direction, coaching, and support to Logistics Team Members throughout the shift.
- Model company values and expected workplace behaviors through professional conduct and leadership by example.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new Logistics Team Members.
- Monitor team performance and provide feedback to support continuous development.
- Address and escalate team member concerns, attendance issues, and workplace conflicts when required.
Operations Management:
- Ensure all logistics activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established work instructions.
- Coordinate manpower and work assignments to meet production requirements.
- Monitor material flow, inventory accuracy,
and production line support activities.
- Identify, communicate, and assist in resolving daily operational issues impacting production or customer delivery.
- Support shift coverage and staffing requirements, including overtime and schedule adjustments as required.
- Maintain compliance with FIFO standards and inventory control processes.
Safety & Compliance:
- Promote a safe work environment and ensure adherence to all company health and safety policies.
- Ensure proper use of material handling equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Report and participate in investigations related to safety incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
Continuous Improvement & Workplace Organization:
- Support and sustain 5S standards within logistics areas.
- Encourage team member involvement in continuous improvement activities.
- Participate in problem-solving initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate waste and improve operational efficiency.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Complete required reports and communicate shift performance, concerns, and priorities to leadership.
- Accurately document operational issues, equipment concerns, and staffing challenges.
- Assist with audits, inventory activities, and departmental projects as assigned.
Equipment Operation:
- Safely operate forklifts, tuggers, zoom boom, and other authorized material handling equipment as required.
- Perform pre-operational inspections and report equipment deficiencies.
Other Duties:
- Perform Logistics Team Member duties as needed to support business requirements.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Logistics Group Leader.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum one (1) year experience within the FIO Automotive Logistics Department or equivalent manufacturing logistics experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of logistics processes, material flow, inventory control, and production support operations.
- Current WHMIS certification.
- TDG certification.
- Certified and qualified to operate department equipment as required.

Physical and Environmental Working Conditions:
- High noise levels ( up to 95 dBA).
- Exposure to temperature variations, moving equipment, overhead cranes, sharp/warm parts, oil coatings, and grease.
- Regular presence on the production floor to conduct training, audits, and observations.
- Frequent walking and standing required.
- Must maintain awareness of crane operations, suspended loads, and other workplace hazards.
- Required PPE must be worn at all times in production areas.
