Project Overview:
Oakville GO station provides critical transport infrastructure and requires improvements and modernization to support an increased number of passengers and enhance operational performance of the network. The project will include station building upgrades, upgraded platform works, accessibility improvements and parking lot improvements.
The Kenaidan Murphy Joint Venture (KMJV) has been awarded the construction manager contract to help inform the detailed design, and provide construction management advice, for upgrades to Oakville GO station during the project development stage.

We currently have an opening in Oakville, ON for an: Site Supervisor The Site Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily construction operations on a major rail/transit infrastructure project. This role ensures that all site activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, schedules, and regulatory requirements.
How will you contribute to the team?
To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Lead and supervise day-to-day construction activities across multiple work fronts, including civil, structural,
architectural, and rail-related scopes.
- Direct and coordinate subcontractors, forepersons, trades, and site crews to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project schedule.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies, and applicable rail and transit authority requirements, including Metrolinx standards.
- Monitor construction progress, workforce productivity, and site performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues that may affect schedule, cost, quality, or safety.
- Ensure all construction work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, permits, method statements, and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Field Coordinators, engineers, consultants, and other project team members to resolve field issues and constructability challenges.
- Develop and implement short-term work plans, including daily and weekly look-ahead schedules, to support project milestones and overall construction sequencing.
- Plan and manage site logistics, including labour, materials, equipment, deliveries, access, temporary works, and construction sequencing within active rail or transit environments.
- Lead site inspections, monitor workmanship, identify deficiencies, and coordinate corrective actions in support of the project’s quality assurance and quality control program.
- Review subcontractor performance and ensure adequate labour, equipment, and materials are available to complete assigned work.
- Maintain accurate daily site reports, labour and equipment records, progress updates, safety documentation, and other required project records.
- Chair or participate in site coordination, safety, planning, and progress meetings with subcontractors, project stakeholders, consultants, and client representatives.
- Coordinate shutdowns, track access, permits, and work activities occurring near or within active rail corridors.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior site staff and promote effective communication and collaboration across the project team.
Education and Experience:
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field,
or an equivalent combination of education and construction experience.
- 7–10+ years of progressive site supervision experience on major infrastructure, civil, transportation, or transit construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience independently supervising complex construction activities, subcontractors, multiple trades, and concurrent work fronts.
- Experience working on rail or transit projects, Metrolinx projects, or within active rail corridors is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of civil and structural construction methodologies, sequencing, site logistics, temporary works, and field operations.
- Thorough understanding of Ontario health and safety legislation, construction regulations, and industry best practices.
- Proven ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, contracts, and technical documentation.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and hold subcontractors and crews accountable.
- Demonstrated experience planning daily and weekly site activities and contributing to look-ahead and recovery schedules.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure construction environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across field teams, project management, consultants, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, with a commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance.
Salary Range:
Between $90,000 - $115,000, depending on experience
