Company Description African-Canadian Development Cooperation (ACADEC) is a non-governmental, non-political, not-for-profit humanitarian organization registered in Canada, dedicated to supporting Africans living in Canada to flourish in all areas of life. ACADEC focuses on migration, integration, development, and education, offering workshops and seminars that ease social and economic integration into Canadian society. The organization also partners with African countries, leveraging the expertise of African professionals in the diaspora to contribute to sustainable development goals.
Acting as a bridge between diaspora professionals and African communities, ACADEC collaborates with individuals, associations, community groups, corporate bodies, and governments in Canada and Africa to advance its mission.
Role Description The Social Media Content Creator is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater St-Catharines-Niagara Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for planning, creating, and publishing engaging content across ACADEC’s social media channels to amplify the organization’s mission, programs, and events. Day-to-day tasks include developing content calendars, producing text, image, and short-form video content, monitoring platform activity, and responding to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner.

Creator will collaborate closely with program and communications teams to highlight community stories, promote workshops and seminars,
and support campaigns related to migration, integration, development, and education. The role also involves tracking performance metrics, proposing improvements based on analytics, and ensuring alignment with ACADEC’s brand and values.
Qualifications
- Strong social media content creation and storytelling skills, including the ability to produce clear, compelling posts, captions, and short-form video scripts.
- Experience managing social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube) and working with scheduling and analytics tools.
- Basic design and multimedia skills, such as using Canva or similar tools for graphic design, straightforward video editing, and image optimization.
- Ability to plan and execute content calendars, support digital campaigns, and align content with organizational goals and community needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to engage respectfully with diverse communities and represent ACADEC’s values online.
- Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work on-site in a collaborative environment.
- Understanding of issues related to migration, integration, development, education, and African diaspora communities in Canada is an asset.
- Previous experience in social media, communications, marketing, or community engagement; post-secondary education in a related field is an advantage but not mandatory.
