About the Opportunity
Help modernize and scale the workflow platform behind Dayforce.
We’re looking for a Senior Software Developer to join the Dayforce Platform Extensibility team and help evolve one of the most critical systems in Dayforce: Workflow. Our mission is to build scalable, extensible platform capabilities that reduce duplication and enable teams to move faster.
At the heart of what we build is the Dayforce Workflow platform—a scalable, rule-based workflow orchestration engine powering employee lifecycle processes across a multi-tenant SaaS platform used by millions globally.
We’re evolving Workflow into a reusable platform service with extensible APIs that support workflow capabilities across multiple Dayforce domains. As part of that evolution, we’re also investing in AI-enabled orchestration and intelligent automation experiences integrated directly into the platform.
This is a platform engineering role focused on solving complex challenges at enterprise scale—evolving foundational systems, building extensible platform capabilities, and shaping the future of workflow orchestration across Dayforce.
This is a full-stack role with a strong backend focus, where the most impactful work involves distributed systems, platform architecture, scalability, and backend engineering.
What You'll Get to Do Own and evolve core capabilities within the Dayforce Workflow platform.
Contribute to AI-enabled orchestration and intelligent automation initiatives, leveraging AI as a force multiplier to evolve workflow capabilities and developer productivity across Dayforce.
Design and build scalable backend services, extensible APIs, and orchestration capabilities.
Improve the scalability, reliability, and performance of high-volume workflow systems.
Drive technical design, engineering standards, and operational excellence through modern development practices, observability, maintainability, and platform-focused architecture.

Skills and Experience We Value
AI & Contemporary Development Tooling Hands-on experience building or prototyping AI-enabled applications, agents, or orchestration workflows using LLMs and modern AI frameworks.
Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent as part of day-to-day development workflows and as a practical force multiplier for teams. Backend & Platform Engineering Strong experience building and maintaining production-grade enterprise applications with C#/.NET.
Experience designing scalable backend services, extensible APIs, and reusable platform capabilities.
Strong SQL Server expertise, including performance tuning, query optimization, concurrency, and troubleshooting at scale.
Experience building distributed, high-volume systems with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
Practical experience with Azure and modern cloud development patterns.
Engineering Mindset
Ability to communicate with clarity across all levels—from technical design discussions with engineers to translating platform strategy and trade-offs for leadership.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills across backend systems, distributed services, and platform infrastructure.
Experience with modern development practices, CI/CD workflows, observability, structured logging, and operational reliability.
Strong engineering judgment—balancing scalability, maintainability, platform evolution, and pragmatic delivery.
What Would Make You Stand Out
Experience building or evolving workflow orchestration platforms or similar enterprise platform capabilities.
Experience developing reusable platform services and extensible APIs that support multiple product domains.
Experience applying AI-enabled orchestration or intelligent automation within enterprise software.
Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers while remaining hands-on with development.
