The Role: Software Engineering Intern

MASIV is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Software Engineering Intern for a high‑impact, 12‑16 month term. You will collaborate with computational architects, engineers, and fabricators to design, develop, and implement software solutions across various AEC projects and initiatives.

Core Responsibilities & Tech Stack

- Impact: Contribute to the full software development lifecycle: from requirements gathering and design to testing and deployment.
- Mentorship: Report directly to the CEO on a day‑to‑day basis, with project guidance from Shop and Site Supervisors.
- Focus: Code, debug, and maintain software applications in the intersection of construction technology, AR/VR, and AI.
- AEC Automation: Python, ML (Dataset training/management), BIM software (RevitAPI, Rhino.Compute – a plus). Implement real‑time BIM, simulation, and fabrication pipelines. Solve complex problems and debug software applications.
- Communication: Self‑management, clear communication, accountability. Communicate ideas, work, and progress clearly in meetings and creative outlets. Take responsibility for specific project areas.
- Applied Research:



Be willing and open‑mind to take on research and apply it to company projects.

Highly Desirable Assets (a "Plus")

- Experience in Grasshopper or other AEC‑specific visual scripting tools.
- Proficiency in real‑time tools like Touch Designer, Unreal Engine, or Unity.
- Research experience in computational graphics, geometry, fabrication, or intelligence.
- Experience with WASM.
- Talent with Vibe Coding and LLMs as assistants.

Qualities We Require (Non‑Negotiable)

- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Digital Engineering, or related field.
- 1‑3 years of relevant academic or personal experience in computer science, software engineering, or full‑stack development.
- Portfolio demonstrating technical projects, out‑of‑the‑box thinking, and stellar UI/UX design.
- Strong commitment to the team, maintaining positive working relationships and embodying the highest levels of ethics and integrity.

- Hungry for knowledge: Learning content will be provided for the first two months of the internship, to be completed concurrently with project development.
