Join Jean Tweed Centre as a Strengthening Families Counsellor and empower families facing mental health and substance use challenges. This full time position offers a supportive environment to make a real impact. In this one-year contract, you will provide outreach, counseling, and case management services to women and their families.
Your role includes assessing needs, engaging in therapeutic relationships, and coordinating with child welfare professionals. Emphasizing trauma-informed approaches, you will conduct both individual and group counseling, while ensuring accurate documentation of client interactions. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess client needs for tailored service planning
- Build therapeutic ties with clients and families
- Deliver trauma-informed group and individual counseling
- Collaborate with child welfare services for seamless care
- Document interactions and monitor client progress Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Child and Youth Care or related field
- Experience with families having complex needs
- Proficient writing and communication skills
- Familiarity with community-based service systems
