Craft & Gather is a new community makerspace where creativity comes to life. Our studio provides access to sewing machines, Cricut machines, heat presses, craft supplies, workshops, and creative events in a welcoming, inclusive setting. Whether someone is learning a new skill or working on a personal project, we're here to inspire creativity and build community.

We're looking for a friendly, organized, and creative Studio Assistant to help provide an exceptional experience for every visitor.

Position Summary

As a Studio Assistant, you'll be the welcoming face of Craft & Gather. You'll greet customers, run orientations, assist with bookings and retail purchases, help maintain our creative spaces, prepare materials for workshops, and ensure the studio remains clean, safe, and inviting.

This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys crafting, loves helping people, and thrives in a creative, community-focused environment.

Responsibilities

- Welcome customers and provide excellent customer service.
- Check guests in for studio time, workshops, and private events.
- Operate the Square point-of-sale system.
- Assist customers with basic questions about studio equipment and supplies.
- Prepare materials and set up for workshops and events.
- Restock retail merchandise and craft supplies.
- Keep workstations, machines, and common areas clean and organized.
- Ensure studio tools and equipment are returned and stored properly.
- Answer phone calls, emails, and customer inquiries.
- Assist with social media content, photos,



and studio promotions when needed.
- Support instructors and help create a fun, positive atmosphere.

Qualifications
- Friendly, outgoing, and dependable.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software.
- Organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for arts, crafts, DIY projects, or creative hobbies is a strong asset.

Experience with at least 2 of the following is required:

- Cricut machines
- Sewing or quilting
- Knitting or crochet
- Painting or mixed media
- Sublimation or heat press projects

Some training will be provided

Job Details

- Part-time
- Starting wage: $17.60 per hour
- Evening and weekend availability is required.
- Opportunities for additional hours during workshops, camps, and special events.
