Technical Sales Manager, Industrial Products

Location: Greater Toronto Area preferred. Other Canadian locations may be considered for an exceptional candidate.

Salary: C$90,000 to C$105,000 per year, depending on experience

The Opportunity

TC Measurement & Control Inc. is looking for an experienced Technical Sales Manager to help develop our Canadian business.

This is a hands on technical sales and account management role for someone with experience selling physical technical or industrial products to engineering, manufacturing or industrial customers.

You will manage existing customer accounts throughout Canada while developing new business opportunities and helping expand TC’s presence in the Canadian market.

The role is primarily focused on customer contact by phone and email, preparing quotations, providing technical and commercial support, following up enquiries and building long term customer relationships.

Occasional customer visits may be required where commercially worthwhile, but this is not a travel intensive field sales position.

This is a senior individual contributor role. It does not currently involve managing a sales team.

As the Canadian business grows, there will be genuine opportunities to progress into a Regional Manager or Country Manager position, with increasing responsibility for sales, customer development and the future direction of TC Canada.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and develop existing customer accounts throughout Canada
- Develop new business with engineering, manufacturing and industrial customers
- Respond to customer enquiries by phone and email




- Understand customer requirements and provide suitable technical and commercial solutions
- Prepare quotations and follow up opportunities through to order completion
- Assist customers with product selection and application requirements
- Build strong, long term customer relationships
- Work closely with colleagues in production, purchasing, sales and logistics
- Help develop the Canadian customer base and longer term sales strategy, it is important to note; no cold calling will be required.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with proven experience selling physical technical or industrial products in a business to business environment.

Relevant backgrounds may include

- Technical sales
- Industrial sales
- Engineering sales
- Industrial distribution
- Technical account management
- Customer facing technical support with commercial responsibility

Applicants should have experience selling to customers in sectors such as engineering, manufacturing, process industries, industrial distribution or original equipment manufacturing.

Previous experience with temperature measurement products is not essential. Full product and industry training will be provided.

The successful candidate will have:

- Strong experience in business to business technical or industrial sales




- Experience preparing quotations and progressing opportunities through to completed orders
- The ability to understand customer requirements and technical information
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Confidence communicating with engineers, purchasing teams, production personnel and business owners
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to manage existing accounts while developing new business
- Legal authorisation to work in Canada
